(2) If you have firmware 1.0.00 on your E8350 router, you will need to upgrade your router to firmware 1.0.01 prior to upgrading to firmware 1.0.02. (3) Please do not modify the filename of firmware 1.0.02. Otherwise, firmware upgrade will fail. (4) Prior to carrying out firmware upgrade, please: (A) Disconnect all wireless and wired devices/computers from the router, except for the computer in step (B) as described below. (B) Then, use a computer with a wired connection to one of the Ethernet/LAN ports of E8350 to upgrade the firmware via the browser-based GUI. (C) Do NOT interrupt the firmware upgrade process. In case firmware upgrade fails and the router becomes non-responsive, you may access the recovery mode of the router and recover it. Firmware 1.0.01 (build 14) - Improved stability of 2.4GHz network - Added support of user-configurable VLAN priority bits - Addressed interoperability/stability issue with Intel 5300 in 5GHz band - Addressed the issue of disabling "Access via Wireless" in browser-based GUI does not work on the 5GHz network Firmware 1.0.00 (build 31) - Initial release _____________________________________________________________________ ------------- RECOVERY MODE ------------- To access the recovery mode: (a) Power off the router. (b) Take a computer with Ethernet port; put the firmware image of E8350 on this computer. Then, assign a fixed IP address, 192.168.1.2, to this computer. Set the default gateway to 192.168.1.1. Set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. (c) Connect one of the Ethernet/LAN ports of the router to the computer in (b) using a network cable. (d) While the router is turned off, press and hold the reset button. (e) While you are still pressing the reset button, power on the router. (f) Wait till the power LED of E8350 is flashing rapidly, release the reset button. (g) Open a web browser in the computer in (b) and visit 192.168.1.1. You should see a white page with 2 buttons. Click the "Browse" button and browse for the firmware image. Then, click "Recover & Reboot" button to upload the firmware to the router. Do NOT interrupt the recovery process (wait 7-10 minutes). (h) After the router reboots (power LED is solid green), press and hold the reset button for 5-10 seconds to reset the router.
